Canal water, tide and old block walls

My building is in 40-year recertification. Does a water loss complicate that?
It can, if the drying is done badly. Moisture behind furring strips is what an engineer flags, so we log readings through the dry-out for the association's file.
If canal or storm water gets in, is that a plumbing claim?
Usually not. Rain and tidal backflow are a flood policy question; a burst pipe is the homeowners side. We work either way and document it for your adjuster.
