Water came up the street during a king tide and got into my ground-floor unit. Is that the same as a burst pipe?
No. Street flooding is category 3 water, so it's handled differently: affected porous materials come out, the area gets cleaned and treated, then dried. It's also usually a flood policy rather than your standard homeowners coverage, which matters for how the claim is filed.
